Rebbe Nachman’s journey to the Land of Israel in 1798–1799 shaped his later Torah and remains a Breslov theme of longing and holiness.
The journey
Crossing in a time of Napoleonic war, Rebbe Nachman reached the Holy Land and later said that only then did he become a true knower of Torah. Breslov still treats Eretz Yisrael as a spiritual destination, not only a geography.
